Personal Trainer in Brighton & Hove - Meet Samuel Pont
From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by fitness and the power of movement. My dad was a triathlete, and I still remember watching him return home drenched in sweat, inspired by the discipline it took to push past limits. At just ten years old, I picked up my first pair of dumbbells — and I haven’t stopped training since.
For over 20 years, I’ve worked as a personal trainer in Brighton and Hove, helping hundreds of clients build strength, confidence, and lasting health. My mission is simple: to help people transform not just their bodies, but their mindset and approach to life.
Experience That Drives Real Results
Before becoming a full-time trainer, I studied physiotherapy — and that foundation in rehabilitation and human movement still shapes my coaching today. Whether I’m working with athletes, busy professionals, or complete beginners, I focus on sustainable progress and safe, smart programming that gets results. This foundation gave me a solid foundation for developing my very specific training philosophy and methods.
I’ve also personally overcome major setbacks — including a full ACL reconstruction — and fought my way back to competitive combat sports. That experience fuels my empathy and understanding when working with clients rebuilding strength or recovering from injuries.
Beyond Personal Training
Outside of the gym, I’ve trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for over 20 years, earning my brown belt and competing at county level. I’m also part of the film industry, training toward full qualification on the British Stunt Register — a challenge that combines climbing, scuba diving, horse riding, rally driving, and advanced swimming.
I love animals, nature, and the mental peace that comes from being outdoors and crafting. When I’m not coaching or training, you’ll usually find me with my pets, reading fantasy novels, silver smithing jewellery or watching classic films.
